World IP Day26.04.2017
Am 26. April wird der World Intellectual Property Day (World IP Day) gefeiert.
On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, the AIPPI, the ÖV and other organisations invite all to celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day – a day to celebrate the important global role, which IP plays in supporting creativity and technological innovation.
In 2000, WIPO member states designated April 26 as a day on which to consider how IP contributes to creativity and innovation and to promoting a better awareness and understanding of IP. April 26 was selected as World IP Day as it was the day on which the WIPO Convention (creating WIPO) took effect in 1970.
This year’s theme at WIPO is “Innovation – Improving Lives” (http://www.wipo.int/ip-outreach/en/ipday/). Innovation addresses shared global challenges and is improving our lives in various ways by creating better healthcare, promoting renewable energy and improving crop varieties.
